...A Special Tribute...

If tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things, we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you!
And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand
that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand;
she said my place was ready, in heaven far above
and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye
for all my life, I’d always thought I didn’t want to die;
I had so much to live for, so much left yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad;
If I could relive yesterday,just even for a while;
I’d say good-bye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories would take the place of me;
when I thought of worldly things I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me, from his great golden throne,
He said, “This is Eternity and all I’ve promised you.”
Today your life on earth is past but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow but today will always last;
and since each day’s the same way there’s no longing for the past.
You have been so faithful, so trusting and so true;
though there were times you did some things, you knew you shouldn’t do.
But you have been forgiven and now at last you’re free;
so won’t you come and take my hand and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart…

Its been six years from today since my Grandpa Robinson has been gone and till this day I still feel in my heart like he has never left. Every time I think of him I get this burning feeling inside of my chest. It makes me feel like he's right there beside me when I start to feel that burning inside. He meant the world to me and still does.  He was the most caring and loving man and everyone loved him that knew him. He had a nickname for everyone he knew....mine was 'Charlie Jack.' I will never forget him calling me that every time I saw him and how special I felt knowing that I was his only 'Charlie Jack.'  I remember him giving us all his special way of giving kisses and that was known as his 'kitty-licks' which was where he would hug us and then right before he would let go he would lick our cheeks! So it rubbed off on all of us kids and we would always do it to him right before we were leaving and run away before he could give us one. He was always so much fun to be around, he brought so much happiness and love to the family....I miss that so much about him!

I will never forget him and he will always be in my heart forever and ever. I can't wait for the day to be with him again and introduce him to my husband for the very first time. I wish so badly that Jeff could have known him but I know without a doubt that my Grandpa was there that very special day in the temple because I could feel him there. I miss him and love him more than words can describe. And I am so entirely grateful for the gospel in my life to give me the comfort of knowing that I will see him again someday and that makes this process of him being gone for six years a little easier. I hope and pray that I will forever feel that burning inside of me that I do now.

 I had found that poem when he passed away and it was as if he wrote that personally to us. So every time I read it I think of him and smile. I had given it to my family and my sweet Grandma as a remembrance of him and my Grandma still has it in a frame at her St. George home that she had bought with my Grandpa just a few months before he passed away.

I miss you Grandpa so much and you will always be in my heart......forever!

Love Always,
